Reportedly an outflow of ZTT research. It requires a constant and significant supply of energy. It is used for medical emergencies, space transport to lessen demands on life support systems and to withstand high accelerations.
Some people, such as Ashly Hanson, use Zero Tau to “travel into the future”, either for touristic purposes or to wait for effective rejuvenation techniques.
Placing a possessed into a Zero Tau pod is an effective method of “de-possession”. The possessor's soul remains connected to the beyond, where the Zero Tau field does not reach, therefore the soul is aware of time passing while being unable to sense anything else due to the host body being in stasis. Loren Skibbow, a captured possessed, said that for the posessor «It is the ultimate sensory deprivation, actually worse than the beyond». Even the strongest possessing souls cannot endure this deprivation of senses for long and eventually flee back to the beyond.
The Neutronium Alchemist, created by Dr. Alkad Mzu, uses a Zero Tau field to freeze an energy patterning node either at singularity or just before, depending on its setting.
